Tomato Omelette
Tomato omelette is a popular breakfast in South India. It is full of carbohydrates and energy. A good start for a day but can be a mid day break also. If you want to make spicy, then add green chilies.
Ingredients we will need to make this dish:
Bengal gram flour (besan) : . . . . 1 cup
Onion(pyaj) : . . . . . . one medium size
Ginger paste (adrak) : . . . 1/2 tea spoon
Tomatoes (tamater) : . . . . . . . . . . two
Baking soda : . . . . . . . . . 1/4 tea spoon
Oil (tel) : . . . . . . . . . 3 to 4 table spoon
Green chilies (hari mirchi) : (optional) 1 or 2
Red chili powder (lal mirchi) : 1 tea spoon
Turmeric powder (haldi) : 1 tea spoon
Salt (namak) to taste
Cut one tomato in slice and chop the other. Mix besan, finely chopped onion, ginger paste, red chili powder, turmeric powder, finely chopped green chilies, salt and baking soda in tomatoes. Add little water to make a thick batter.
Heat oil and spread the batter. Place two or three tomato slice on it and fry till done. Flip it over and fry the other side to cook it completely.
Serve hot with coconut chutney or tomato sauce.
