Dahi Wada





Dahi Wada is fried Urad dal balls in curd. This preparation is not very spicy but if you want, then add red chili powder on top of it.

Ingredients you will require :

Urad dal (black gram split) : . . two cups

Baking powder : . . . . . . . 1/4 tea spoon

Black pepper powder (kali mirchi) : 1/2 tea spoon

Red chili or bor chili (lal mirchi) : 6 to 8

Mustard seed (rai) : . . . . . . . . 1 tea spoon

Curry patta : . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 4 to 6

Coriander leaves (hara dhania)

Oil for frying

Curd (dahi) : . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 1/2 kg

Sugar (shakkar) to taste

Salt (namak) to taste

Soak urad dal in water for over night. Grind it to paste and add baking powder, black pepper powder and salt to taste. Now make small balls and deep fry. Transfer fried balls in cold water or curd whey and leave it for twenty minutes.

Mix sugar and salt in curd. Temper it in two table spoon of oil with red chili, mustard seed and curry leaves. Now remove balls from water, squeeze excess water out and transfer fried balls in curd. Sprinkle red chili powder on top and add coriander leaves.
