Aloo Tikki
Aloo tikki is a very popular and delicious dish. It is taken as a snack. This preparation is hot and spicy. Reduce the quantity of chilies as per your taste.
Ingredients we will need to make this dish:
Potatoes (aloo) : . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 3 to 4
Black pepper powder (kali mirchi) : 1/2 tea spoon
Red chili powder (lal mirchi) : . . . . 1/2 tea spoon
Green chilies (hari mirchi) : . . . . . . . . . . . 1 to 2
Green peas (matar) : . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 1/2 cup
Ginger paste (adrak) : . . . . . . . 1/2 table spoon
Garam masala powder : . . . . . . . 1/4 tea spoon
Cumin seed (jeera) : . . . . . . . . . . 1 tea spoon
Oil for frying
Salt (namak) as per your taste
Boil potatoes and let it be cool. Boil peas with little salt.
Mash peas with a fork and add very finely chopped green chilies, ginger paste, garam masala powder and roasted - crushed cumin seed. Taste it for salt.
Mash potatoes and add black pepper powder, red chili powder and salt. Mix it thoroughly.
Now make a small ball (of about 1 inch) of potato and make a cavity with thumb. Fill peas and close it to make a round ball. Press it slightly to make it flat patty.
Heat oil in a pan and fry patty till it is golden brown in color. Serve aloo tikki with green chutney and tomato ketchup.
